About us
Our Mission
The mission of AVAILABLE TO ALL is to ensure that all public schools are
“available to all on equal terms”
as promised by Chief Justice Earl Warren’s famous opinion in Brown v. Board of Education.
2024 Peterson Prize Finalist
We’re honored to be named a 2024 finalist for the Gregor G. Peterson Prize in venture philanthropy. The annual award celebrates trailblazing start-ups with bold ideas.
Our Vision
As a nonpartisan watchdog, AVAILABLE TO ALL aims to increase the public’s access to the best public schools by:
Exposing unfair or illegal enrollment practices by any public school
Documenting how these policies are bad for American families and the American social contract
Supporting parents in gaining equal access to public schools
Advocating for legislative and policy reforms that will open up the schools
Litigating cases against districts and schools that break the law
Basic standards of fairness and openness should apply to the admissions policies of all public schools, including charter schools, magnet schools, traditional public schools with attendance zones, and all others. It is vitally important for our social contract that the best public schools be open to the public.
